Three Not-To-Miss Anti-Corruption Conferences in Latin America in May

IBA’s ANTI-CORRUPTION CONFERENCE (Mexico City, May 12-13). The International Bar Association’s conference explores “The Fight Against Corruption in Latin America: Implications for Lawyers.” It is co-chaired by the IBA’s Anti-Corruption Committee and ICC Mexico’s Anti-Corruption Committee. ACI’S 4th LATIN AMERICA SUMMIT ON ANTI-CORRUPTION (São Paulo, May 14-15). The main event will be held on May 14th and 15th, with a pre-event workshop on May 13th. Panels will explore Brazil’s new Anti-Bribery Law, regional developments in anti-corruption, compliance best practices, whistleblower risks, and risks related to the upcoming World Cup and Olympics in Brazil. IBRADEMP ANTI-CORRUPTION IN LATIN AMERICA WORKSHOP (Sao Paulo, May 16). The Brazilian Institute of Business Law (IBRADEMP) presents the workshop “Anti-Corruption in Latin America: Trends and Challenges” on the morning of May 16th at IBRADEMP’s auditorium from 9:30AM to 11:30AM. The speakers – Carlos Ayres, Matteson Ellis, and Matthew Fowler – will discuss recent legislative developments in Latin America, FCPA enforcement developments in the United States, compliance best practices, and other issues covered on the FCPAméricas Blog. The event will be conducted in Portuguese.
